Hidden away in the Cairngorms National Park is an intriguing piece of history, and something you would never expect to find in Scotland... a pyramid!
The pyramid is actually a Cairn, and was erected by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband Prince Albert after his death in 1861.
Its a 20 minute hike up through the woods, and well worth the effort. I was fortunate enough to visit when the heather was a pinky purple colour which only added to the beauty of this spot.
The Cairngorms are a fantastic place to explore, and if you're in the area I highly recommend visiting Prince Alberts Cairn whilst you're their too.
